The Community Organisation Grant Scheme has opened and is receiving requests, the fund closes on the 24th of May.

COGS funds not-for profit organisation's: operational costs, project/ event costs, and development costs.

Whangarei District Council's (WDC) Community Fund closes in one month's time start your planning now for a funding application.

The WDC Community Fund supports projects or events that support the wider community for example: festivals, community celebrations, workshops or seminars, community facility improvements or repairs using volunteer labour.

Average grant is about $2,500, maximum grant $10,000.

Only two rounds per year in October and April.

Exult (Not-for profit community organisation supporting capacity building in the community) is coming to Whangarei on the 11th & 12th of April.

They are delivering two workshops one of which is on 'Sustainable Funding' and the other on 'Growing Great Ideas'.

Exult is an excellent capacity building organisation and its definitely worth attending one or both of their workshops if you are supporting a not-for profit organisation:
