He mihi aroha ki a Whaea Kat,

Today we farewell our beautiful Whaea Kat as she begins her next chapter at Rangitāiki College.

Whaea Kat is a kaiako who carries her Ngāti Awatanga, te reo Māori me ōna tikanga with pride, warmth, and humility. She leads with aroha, humour, patience, and a big heart... always seeing the child in front of her and meeting them with care.

Rangitāiki College is very lucky to have her. We know she will continue to plant seeds, grow confidence, and make a lasting difference in the lives of the rangatahi she works alongside next.

🌟 Allandale Alumni Success 🌟

Jean-Daniel attended Allandale School from 2007–2012, finishing in Year 6. In his final year, he received the “Top All Round Student” award. He achieved highly in academics, music, and sport, and continued to earn “Top All Round Boy” awards through Intermediate and at Whakatāne High School.

This week, Jean-Daniel graduated from the University of Auckland with a Master of Engineering Management (Honours), completing six years of study. He graduated with First Class Honours and was top of his class in three papers.

His research focused on preparing students for AI in the workplace and how artificial intelligence can be better used in engineering education. His work was recognised by the University, and he has now been offered a role helping develop a new postgraduate course, Applied AI for Engineers.

Jean-Daniel is continuing his research for publication and presentation at an Australasian engineering education conference.

Just to clarify, enrolment forms for our newer tamariki have been sent home and we ask that these are returned as soon as possible.

Children will still be seen by the dental team, and if any work is needed, a consent form will then be sent home. Please note these forms come directly from the dental unit, not the school office.
