Newlands Community Centre Phone 477-3724 for all enquiries. New groups and ideas are always welcome. Kids and youth – childcare, toy libraries, school holiday programmes, youth services.

Newlands Community Centre is a Wellington City Council managed facility, and offers resources, support services and activities to improve the quality of life in communities in the city. Services & Activities
Every community centre offers its own mix of programmes, largely driven by the residents and groups who use them. Some examples of service areas are:

Community building – community liaison me

Events and activities – social groups and outings, arts and crafts, fairs. Communication tools – notice boards, newsletters, access to computers and internet, photocopying and faxing.

Kia ora koutou, please take your plastic and metal lids to New World Newlands for now, as we don't currently have a volunteer to take ones we collect here to Sustainability Trust. Please make sure they are clean, and don't mix the plastic with the metal ones. The collection boxes for the lids are located just inside the entrance at New World.

We are so happy to be open again! This morning we gathered to reopen our centre with a blessing led by Joe McLeod and Māmari Stephens of Nga Hau e Wha o Papararangi marae. We were fortunate to have the support of the wonderful kapa haka group from Newlands Intermediate School - he korokoro tūī rātou (they have beautiful voices). Thanks to Deputy Mayor Ben McNulty for your speech in support, and huge mihi to all our community partners and the community as a whole, we are very grateful.
