Come and be part of this friendly enthusiastic Society of keen gardeners and plant sellers.
We offer 3 vibrant flower shows a year, Spring show, Rose Show and Dahlia and Begonia Show.
We have monthly coffee mornings at the California Garden Center and interesting talks during the year along with mini flower shows and afternoon tea

We offer advice for the gardeners and always happy to help.

We welcome everybody from the Hutt Region and beyond.

Please feel free to attend our AGM which will be followed by an interesting talk by Clare Shearman the Plant Manager from the Wellington Botanic Gardens and will talk about the Begonia House and more.
Sunday 24th May 1.30pm Korimako Room Walter Nash Center Taita.

We welcome new Members and committee members to be part of our friendly committee. We meet monthly at Moera Hall.

If you are new to gardening, that is good news, come and learn and we also welcome seasoned gardeners to share your wisdom.

The next meeting will be on Saturday 2nd May at the Pelorus Trust Sports House, Hutt Park, at 2
pm but with setting up from 1:30. The programme will include a brief Branch AGM after a slide show by Leony and Ingrid on highlights of their Auckland trip to the national
Society’s AGM in Auckland.

The next meeting will be on Saturday 4th April (yes, that is Easter Saturday) at the Pelorus Trust Sports House, Hutt Park, at 2 pm but with setting up from 1:30. The programme will include a repotting and propagation session led by Ingrid – bring a small cactus or succulent plant in a pot that
you want repotted. The competitions are Cactus -Hairy, and Succulent – Hairy. (Note that woolly, velvety, etc, also qualify for both).
We are expecting the front door to the venue is still faulty, and we will have to use the rear entrance again (access around the right-hand side of the building).

These are our first Photo's come down and enjoy at Walter Nash Center Tocker Street today at 12pm - 4pm and Tomorrow at 10am to 3.30pm $3-00 entry children free :-)

You are all invited to the Hutt Valley Horticultural Society Flower Show in combination with The Wellington Begonia the Wellington Fuchsia Societies and floral Art display's by the Lower Hutt Floral Art Society. There will be lots of great plants for sale, Craft, Fudge and our very special Children's Treasure Hunt put on by the Begonia Society. You will see many beautiful blooms in including Dahlias and much more, we are looking forward to seeing you :-)
Plus come and exhibit your cacti :-)

October meeting
The next meeting will be on Saturday 4th October at the Walter Nash Centre, Taita, at 2 pm but with setting up from 1:30. The programme will include a session on plant identification – how to do it and hints on reliable sources of information. Bring along your unidentified plants to test our “experts”
The competitions are: - Cactus – any flowering, and Succulent – any flowering.
