Proud to be part of a council that is prepared to stem the decline. We have a long way to go but finally taking a step in the right direction to rebuilding trust.

This year's Community Insights Results highlighted that we're making steady progress across key areas - leadership, service delivery, and communication - with more residents feeling informed, engaged, and satisfied with core services.

✔ Leadership satisfaction increased from 17% in 2025 to 27%
✔ Communication and engagement rose from 33% to 40%
✔ Satisfaction with core services improved from 23% to 29%
✔ 73% satisfaction with community facilities

The survey gives us a clear picture of how we’re performing as a Council, alongside the broader wellbeing insights from the Quality of Life Survey earlier this year.

We know there’s still more work to do and we will use these findings to guide ongoing improvements, focusing on strengthening core services, building trust, and delivering better outcomes for our community.

Thank you to everyone who shared their feedback.

So you have heard on the grape vine about almagamation of councils. Here might be your only change to have your say. Speak now.!!

Significant change is coming for councils across New Zealand, as the Government has announced its requirements to simplify local government (regional, city and district councils) by October 2028.

I love it when someone turns up and says we need more infrastructure like it’s some sort of revelation. I recall simon bridges standing on the side of frankton road and saying the queenstowns traffic issues “caught us all by surprise”. This simply couldn’t be further from the truth. what has lacked is either government providing enough investment or the tools for us to fix it ourselves.

A proposed gondola-style network is among multiple new transport ideas.
