We have the lovely Mere Whaanga doing a story time for the Tamariki here at the Wairoa Library in the children's section .

Mere will be reading from a selection of beautiful children's books.

This year our Winter Reading Programme is inspired by ✨Matariki✨

Winter Reading Packs are available for collection from the library the 29th June - 17th of July , The more you read the more prizes you can collect💙

We have a Colouring Competition that will be running from 29th of June - 17th of July , choose any one of the portraits of the matariki stars to enter , these can be found at the entrance to the children's section 💙

Library Crafts will be available in the children's section from 6-14th July 10-12pm daily , no registration needed but a name & contact are essential 💙

Digital Hub Activities will be available from 6-17th of July 1-3pm daily , Kids Computer time from 3-5pm , no registration needed but a name & contact are essential 💙

Kotemaori School ❤️

A big thank you to Kotemaori School for participating in our Country Reader's reading programme !

The students all received a booklet to complete 10 book reviews over 2 months , the booklet is then stickered when book reviews are completed , to celebrate at the end of the programme everyone received a certificate , prize and a hokey pokey ice cream !

The after school club kids had such a great couple of weeks designing and making their own Snakes & Ladders Board.🐍

Once they had finished their boards they tested them out by playing a few games with each other and found that some boards were harder than others ! 🐍🪜
