🌊 Volunteers Needed – Wahine on Water this Saturday 🌊

We're looking for a few extra hands to help make this year's Wahine on Water event a success!

We need assistance with:
✅ Arena set up (6.30am–8.30am)
✅ Traffic Co-ordination (7.30am-8.30am)
✅ Event logistics throughout the day
✅ Photographer
✅ BBQ Lunch and morning tea set up
✅ Pack down/tidy up (2.30pm-4.00pm)

Whether you can help for a couple of hours or the whole day (finish around 3.00pm), we'd love to hear from you. It's a great way to support an awesome event and our wahine in surf lifesaving.

Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu | National Volunteer Week 2026

An enormous and heartfelt thank you to every one of our Waihī Beach Lifeguard Services volunteers.

This club and the services we provide exist because of the wonderful humans who give their time, energy, skills and care in so many different ways.

Big roles, small roles, visible roles, behind-the-scenes roles - every contribution matters.

It takes a village, and in our case, it takes a whole community.

To our lifeguards, patrol support, coaches, officials, Junior Surf helpers, committee and board members, event volunteers, work party crew, supporters, families and everyone who steps in when needed - thank you.

There are many familiar faces in this photo board, but so many more behind this amazing club and service.

We appreciate each and every one of you. 💙💛❤️

Christiaan Maarhuis, Senior Lifeguard and member of the Board, is taking on a huge challenge starting today! He's swimming 100km in 30 days as part of The Big Swim to raise funds for Coastguard. It’s a big effort for a great cause, helping ensure people across Aotearoa can stay safe and confident on the water.

A huge thank you to the families supporting this year’s calf fundraiser. This "grass" roots fundraiser makes a real difference. This year the $4800 raised will go towards new sports equipment for our athletes. We are all extremely grateful for the generosity of the Shallue family and the individuals who have supported this scheme.
