Although our senior students came back a week ago from their Senior Leadership Camp 2026, the excitement and fun of the experiences are still lingering and frequently talked about. The students had a blast as they made their way to the Bay of Plenty and settled for 3 days in Oohope. They went rock climbing, wharf jumping, paddle boarding , enjoyed night time beach challenges and walked the 4km educational Kiwi Tracker walk facilitated by the Whakataane Kiwi Trust, just to name a few of the many exciting activities covered. A huge shout out to Mrs Roberts and Sam Welch for organising and supervising this amazing opportunity.
What our senior leadership camp is about: Senior leadership camps are basically a massive level-up for students' personal skills. Instead of just sitting in a classroom, they're thrown into real-world challenges that force them to figure out how to collaborate with a team. They walk away with way more confidence, better "people skills," and the ability to actually get a group of people on the same page. Plus, itβs a great way to practise being brave in a safe environment, act as Kaitiaki and all the WAI Way values we strive for.
