Our heritage collection includes many type of documents including historical maps, fami

Following our last 'appreciation post' we specifically have to say how much we appreciate a number of people who were involved in restoring The Treasury reception desk to its home again. We have had so much overwhelmingly positive feedback about this from the team and from visitors that we need to give a huge thanks to all involved - Warren, Steve and Norelle, Neville, Jeff, Graeme and Case. There were a number of steps involved in getting it back to The Treasury, and to its original beautiful varnished wood finish, and we just love having it back here. Thanks to all!!

Thank you! A huge 'thank you' to all who contribute to The Coromandel Heritage Trust, and The Treasury | Te Whare Pātaka.
We are very grateful for all your contributions ... from our Trustees, to our Reading Room Team, our behind-the-scenes team, our receptionists, our researchers, our heavy movers and luggers, our building care crew, the TCDC guys who mow lawns ( not “volunteers” but thank you regardless), the odd-jobs folks who pop in to do little bits and pieces when we really need them. There are too many to name, but if you are reading this, know we are very appreciative of your time and energy and we're glad to have you on the team.

This was a busy, busy day for The Treasury Team, following a busy week or two preceding this day as we prepared for the open day. The Open Day exceeded all our expectations.

Message inside saying "With compliments, Chris, Darryl and Amber".
What a treasure - this book contains information about the hospitals in the Hauraki/Coromandel region.

Looking for a friendly electrician who could help us out with a small job??
They got us again!! Vandals have been at all our outside lights - we can only guess, but maybe to take the copper???
We've managed to fixed all but this one - the nut on the light unit has been pushed back into the unit and it will take more expertise than we have to fix it ...without electrocution!!
Please leave a message here or email [email protected] if you are able to help us out.
Many thanks!

A huge to thanks this awesome team - Steve, Neville, Jeff and Mike (and Norelle) - we now have the reception desk back inside for a bit of a touch up job, before it is returned to it's place in the foyer.
It takes a diverse team to keep this place ticking along, and we really appreciate all of our helpers and volunteers!

“When we were commemorating WW1, I bought a bundle (of postcards) that are interesting in the messages written on the back rather than famous buildings etc on the front.
The soldier was William John Scott Johnston #33553 of Thames and most were sent to his sister Nell, who was his next of kin and lived at Karaka Creek.” Shirley Arabin

We were delighted to receive, by post, a bundle of WW1 postcards from Shirley, who is an avid postcard collector, a volunteer at Tauranga Museum, and also told us she was decluttering her house (at age 90) and wanted the postcards to come back to where they were originally sent. Thanks Shirley – these are so interesting, and it will be a joy to bring them out for relatives of William and Nell, who may at some stage, visit The Treasury.
