National Volunteer Week, Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu
A tribute to our amazing volunteers who have created this special place for us all to enjoy...
Te Puna Quarry Park is an amazing place of special beauty with walkways, panoramic views, native and exotic trees, specialised gardens, ponds, butterflies, sculptures, and shelters.
Over the past 30 years, volunteers have converted a disused 32 hectare quarry site into a beautiful area that has been labelled 'The Jewel in the Crown of the Western Bay of Plenty.'
We have:
1) a public park with free admission (donations gratefully received!) enjoyed by locals, tourists, schools and community groups
2) The Gallery - a community hall, a popular and affordable venue for private and community gatherings
3) a popular dog walking space (dogs on leads)
4) a green space, second to none, in this area.
To all of our amazing volunteers, thank you for all of the time you donate to keep this piece of paradise as pristine as it always is.
