Kotahitanga ❤️
We are so proud of our kapa haka students, who performed for the very first time today at the Te Aroha Cultural Showcase. This was a fantastic event for us to be part of and it was very special to join other schools across our district in celebrating culture. Our students performed with pride and passion - truly beautiful to watch.
Thank you to our parents and whānau, who came to support our roopu, and to Matua Rawiri for his continued guidance, expertise and aroha for our school.

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa.
Kia tu Kia toa Kia mau - accept the challenge.

OUT OF ZONE ENROLMENTS

The Te Aroha Primary School Board of Trustees invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their child at Te Aroha Primary School for the start of Term 3 2026.

Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available at the school office or on our school website. The Board has determined that the following spaces are likely to be available for out of zone students in 2026.

- 2 spaces in Year 4
- 2 spaces in Year 5
- 2 spaces in Year 6
- 2 spaces in Year 7

Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to open any out of zone spaces in our Year’s 0-3 and Year 8 levels.

Please email an Expression of Interest form https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Mm3VO_6NoeiJ5nJoeP6q1og-6y2P8QrIGRm0KPZyyGk/edit?tab=t.0 or contact Te Aroha Primary School by emailing [email protected]

The deadline for applications is by midday Tuesday 30th June 2026.

If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If a ballot is required, it will be held on Thursday the 2nd of July. Parents of successful applications will be informed of the outcome of the ballot on the same day. If you are unsuccessful in the ballot process, you will receive confirmation of the declined application in due course. Ballot guidelines can be found on the Ministry of Education website here https://www.education.govt.nz/education-professionals/schools-year-0-13/enrolment/enrolment-schemes

Enrolment schemes help manage overcrowding in schools. Learn how school boards operate schemes and how out-of-zone enrolment ballots work.

Talofa lava 🌺
Room 2 did a fantastic job of assembly today. We loved seeing their siapo art work as part of their learning for Vaiaso o le Gagana Sāmoa - Samoa Language Week. Huge congratulations to Sophia, our youngest presenter to date, who was so engaging and confident as she spoke and read in front of the school. Well done ⭐️

Are you safe online?
Rms 7-10 had a visit today from Constable Tash, who talked to our students about how to stay safe online and what to do if they become a victim of online bullying.
This was an excellent opportunity for our students to also understand the concept of a digital footprint.
A really informative and valuable session for our students - thank you Constable Tash. ❤️

Please be aware that tomorrow our fire alarms will be tested throughout the day.

There is no cause for concern if you hear the alarms sounding, as this is part of our regular safety testing programme.

Challenge ⭐️
Today we sent a team to the PCT Challenge at the Event Centre. This challenge is an event based on the New Zealand Police fitness obstacle course for intermediate age students and promotes positive relationships with Police, teamwork, and physical fitness through challenges like the Police obstacle course and police car push.
These students were awesome - representing our school with pride and working together as a team.
Special thanks to Kerri Hannah for transporting and supporting this group of students.
Kia tu Kia toa Kia mau - accept the challenge ⭐️
