⚠🛥 The Deepwater Basin Boat ramp at Milford Sound will be closed soon for replacement.
🚧🔨Construction will begin on 1 July 2026 and is expected to take around 8 weeks.

The boat ramp and immediate area will be closed during the construction period, with little or no opportunity to access Deepwater Basin or Milford Sound from this location.

⚠️Important Winter Update - Milford Track⚠️

❄️🚁Several side-stream bridges have now been flown out by helicopter to prevent avalanche damage.

🚧Two permanent suspension bridges are being replaced, fully closing sections of the track until 20 October (Weather permitting):
❌ Closed from Dumpling Hut → Sandfly Point
❌ Sutherland Falls sidetrack Closed

🤿Divers are checking around access points in Fiordland this week looking for freshwater w**ds such as Lagarosiphon (African oxygen w**d).
🌱There are freshwater w**ds that haven't made it to Fiordland, and we want to keep it that way. With your help we can spot them and stop them before they get established.
✅Cleaning your gear and boat after you've been in and around waterways can help prevent the spread of freshwater pests. Use the 'Check, Clean, Dry' method to make sure you reduce the chances of spreading freshwater pests. Link in the comments.

🏔️⛺️Bookings for Great Walk, hut and campsites for the 2026/27 season open between 12 May and 16 June 2026.

For Great Walks the booking system opens at 9:30am. If you don't already have an account on our booking system, you will need to create one. See the comments for a link to create your account!
