Day two of National Blood Donor Week here in the sunny BOP 🌞

Continuing on our recent milestone celebrations at the Tauranga Donor Centre are Alan and Vicki, who together have made an incredible 500+ donations! 👏
Like many couples, they make time to donate plasma together and are passionate about encouraging others to bring along their partners, besties or workmates and save lives together! 🩸

The Tauranga Donor Centre will be closed on Monday for King’s Birthday 🫅
That also means a shorter week, but the good news is we’ll be open next Saturday (6 June) with appointment slots available for plasma donors.
We’d love your support to help fill the gaps next week.

Rotorua donor community stepped up in a big way for our first mobile plasma visit this week! 💛
We saw many first-time plasma donors roll up their sleeves, amazing to welcome so many new faces. It’s also been fantastic to see existing plasma donors in Rotorua excited to donate closer to home.
A special shoutout to Toni, who came in today for her 62nd plasma donation! She’s pictured here cradling her donation like a newborn, because to her it’s just as precious, knowing it will go on to help save lives.
We’ll be back for another plasma drive at Arawa Park Hotel from 15 to 18 June, and we’d love to see even more donors booked in to donate some liquid gold here in Roto-vegas!

Another amazing milestone 👏❤️
Huge congratulations to Peter on reaching his 200th donation!
Most of Peter’s donations have been plasma, generously given at donor centres in both Auckland and Tauranga. He is an awesome example of the dedicated donors we’re lucky to have at the Tauranga Donor Centre.
👏 Well done, Peter, and thank you for being part of such a generous community!

Milestones like this are only possible thanks to the dedication of our regular donors, and they make a real difference for patients in need every day.

As we head into the colder months, winter ills and chills mean some of our regular donors can’t always make their appointments. We’d love to see more new and existing donors step up and give plasma to help keep up with demand.

👏 Congratulations, David, on an incredible 300 donations!
David began his donation journey at just 18 years old, attending a mobile collection at the old Tauranga Hall (where Baycourt stands today). He went on to make 50 whole blood donations before taking a break when starting a family.
He returned to donating when a family member was diagnosed with leukemia. David asked the doctor what he could do to help. The answer was simple: “Donate blood.” From that moment, he knew this was one of the most meaningful ways to support both loved ones and others in need.
In 2012, David made the switch to donating plasma on a regular basis and has since become a familiar and valued face at the Tauranga Donor Centre.

David, your commitment has helped countless recipients and continues to make a life-changing difference. Thank you for your generosity and dedication to saving lives. ❤
