RUATITI ROAD SLIP UPDATE
Following further assessment of the slip site last week, specialist geotechnical contractors have reviewed the unstable rock face and confirmed that a large rock slab needs to be stabilised using rock bolts. Due to the nature of the rock, it cannot be safely removed using conventional excavation methods.

Rock stabilisation work is scheduled to begin this week.

From Monday, the road is expected to remain closed for at least a further two weeks while rock stabilisation and road reconstruction works are completed. This timeframe is weather dependent.

We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding while these essential safety works are carried out.
