โ„๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ Electric Blanket Safety Reminder ๐Ÿ”ฅโ„๏ธ

As the colder weather arrives, electric blankets can help keep you warm but itโ€™s important to use them safely. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

โœ”๏ธ Check your electric blanket for wear, frayed cords, scorch marks, or damage before use
โœ”๏ธ Follow the manufacturerโ€™s instructions
โœ”๏ธ Turn it off before going to sleep, unless it is designed for overnight use
โœ”๏ธ Never fold or tuck it in tightly while switched on
โœ”๏ธ Store it flat or loosely rolled when not in use
โœ”๏ธ Replace old or damaged blankets

โš ๏ธ If in doubt, have it checked or replace it. Your safety comes first.

Stay warm and stay safe this winter. ๐Ÿ’™

#โ„๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ Winter Safety Reminders ๐Ÿ”ฅโ„๏ธ

As the colder weather sets in, nowโ€™s the perfect time to keep your home safe and warm this winter. ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’™

โœ”๏ธ Chimney alright before first light
Have your chimney cleaned and checked before lighting your first fire of the season. ๐Ÿงน๐Ÿ”ฅ

โœ”๏ธ Cool ash before you stash
Ashes can stay hot for days always store them in a metal container well away from your home. โš ๏ธ

โœ”๏ธ A metre from the heater
Keep anything that can burn at least one metre away from heaters and fireplaces, including clothes, furniture, and curtains. ๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

โœ”๏ธ Clean your dryer lint filter before every use
Lint build-up can quickly become a fire hazard. A quick clean can make a big difference. ๐Ÿ‘•โœจ

Small actions can help prevent big fires this winter. Stay warm and stay safe everyone! โ„๏ธ๐Ÿš’

๐Ÿ”Œโš ๏ธ Do Not Overload Multi-Boards โš ๏ธ๐Ÿ”Œ

Multi-boards and power strips are handy, but plugging too many high-powered appliances into one outlet can create a serious fire risk. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

To stay safe:
โœ”๏ธ Avoid plugging heaters, electric blankets, dryers, and other high-powered appliances into the same multi-board
โœ”๏ธ Never plug one multi-board into another
โœ”๏ธ Check for damaged cords, plugs, or outlets
โœ”๏ธ Make sure multi-boards have adequate ventilation and aren't covered by furniture, clothing, or bedding

โš ๏ธ If a multi-board feels hot, smells unusual, or shows signs of damage, stop using it immediately.

A few simple checks can help prevent an electrical fire and keep your whฤnau safe this winter. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿก

Suppot Stuart Bunn in the Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge
Why I'm taking up the challenge...
I'm racing up the Sky Tower in full firefighting kit to raise vital funds and awareness for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBC). Every day 8 children and adults in New Zealand are diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. LBC is the national charity dedicated to supporting patients and their families, this support can last months or even years. LBC receives very little government funding, so please donate and help me support this great cause. Itโ€™s simple, fast and totally secure and LBC will email you a tax-deductible receipt. Thank you for your amazing support!

That police officer you called a di****ad for writing you a ticket, just spent three hours on the scene of a wreck where a drunk driver killed a family of four.

Those firefighters youโ€™re pi**ed at for shutting down the road, just pulled a grandfather out of a burning house.

Those paramedics that you think are driving to fast, are doing CPR on a 2 year old.

They work when they are hurt, sick, hungry, and tired. They are continuously asked to do more with less, and do it with a smile on their face. Why?

Because they love what they do!!! But, most importantly, because they care.
