🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Cross Country Success! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

A huge effort from all runners at our Kaharoa School and Rural Inter-schools Cross Country event on Monday.

Congratulations to the students who placed in the top 6 and have qualified for the BOP Cross Country Championships in Tauranga on 30 June.

📣 Part-Time Learning Assistant Role

Do you enjoy working with young children? If so, this might be an opportunity for you!
We are looking for an additional Learning Assistant to join our fantastic learning support team! This role would be suitable for a parent of the school, or community member.

This role involves a mix of supporting classroom learning, working with small groups on learning goals, and at times providing 1:1 support for a student during the day. We will provide orientation, guidance, and training.

The wait is over >> Kaharoa PTA Scrap Metal Collection is back for 2026!

With support from our PTA and Macaulay Metals, you have the opportunity to get rid of any unwanted metal items while raising funds for our school at the same time.

Start saving up your unwanted metal items now, and deposit these at school in the designated area of our main car park between 9am 29 May and 9am 5 June.

The sun was shining, and our students were absolute superstars ⭐
This day wouldn’t have been possible without our awesome community Fun Run fundraiser in term 1, thank you so much for your support 🙌

Today we held a remembrance ceremony ahead of ANZAC Day tomorrow. Nine of our year 8 students led the ceremony and did an amazing job. Four students from room Kowhai, our new entrant class, placed wreaths in our remembrance garden.
Together, we took time to reflect on the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country, and the importance of remembering their courage and commitment.

Caring for Our Native Seedlings 🪴

With the support of Trees for Survival , our kura has been nurturing 1,000 native seedlings that will be ready for planting later this year.

Recently, Room Rākau spent an afternoon pruning and weeding the seedlings to help them continue to grow strong and healthy.

It was a great opportunity for our tamariki to learn about caring for the environment and the importance of native planting. A big ngā mihi to Whaea Julie and Rākau for all of your wonderful mahi! 💪

Tarawera Ultra Trail 2026 - what an incredible experience again this year!

A huge thank you to our amazing aid station crew — we truly couldn’t have done it without you. Your time, effort, and unwavering support made all the difference.

To the wonderful Kaharoa School parents who made soups, pasta bakes and baking to fuel our athletes and crew — thank you! The athletes were so grateful, and we’ve heard we had the best aid station with the best food!

To all the kids who came along, you were outstanding. You should be incredibly proud of the job you did.

Special thanks to our Year 7/8 students for the awesome posters — they brought so much energy and encouragement to the day.

We can’t wait to do it all again with you next year!

So proud of our students at the school triathlon yesterday — amazing effort, determination, and smiles all round! We also had Marcus set a new school record for the 9 year old boys beating the existing time by 5 seconds! 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️👏
