For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. - Philippians 2:13
All glory belongs to God. ๐
I am deeply honoured and truly humbled to receive the Kingโs Service Medal in the 2026 Kingโs Birthday Honours for service to the Filipino community.
This is such a HUGE recognition for a Filipino like me to be awarded by His Majesty, The King. This is one, if not the highest and most prestigious honours I could receive in service in my entire life, and I accept it with a heart full of gratitude and awe. I am truly humbled to be entrusted with something of this magnitude. And what makes this even more meaningful is that New Zealand, my adoptive country, has recognised the work I have been called to do.
When I look back on this journey, I see Godโs hand in every step โ opening doors I never expected, placing the right people around me, lifting me and giving me strength in moments I needed it the most. It was not an easy journey but I know God knows my heart and He blesses me with His grace to not give up and continue making a difference, however difficult.
Today, I am reminded that when we remain grounded, God can elevate even the quiet, unseen work into something meaningful and impactful.
I feel incredibly blessed to be in a position to serve, and even more blessed to be recognised in this way - but above all, I am grateful to God for the opportunity, the guidance, and the purpose.
To my family, thank you for your unwavering love and support. To the Filipino community and the wider ethnic community, this honour belongs to you as much as it does to me.
To my adoptive home, Aotearoa, thank you for giving me the opportunity to grow, serve and contribute in a purposeful way. ๐ณ๐ฟ
I receive this with deep gratitudeโand a renewed commitment to continue serving wherever God leads me.
To God be all the glory. โจ
