Today we were scientists! 👩‍🔬 👨‍🔬
We learnt about geothermal environments with Rotorua Museum in a hands on, practical way - testing the water and recording the temperature of 4 different sources of geothermal activity in the Government Gardens.
We can’t wait to complete more scientific investigations at some of our local Reporoa waterways!

Here is our latest newsletter - we started this term busy with our Reunion and we are finishing just as busy with the Cultural Festival and our Matariki Planting event. We hope to see you there!

Next week our Year 4-6 students will begin their William Pike Challenge journey!
This programme will push our students to achieve their goals, build resilience and confidence, create strong connections with their peers, our community, and our local environment.

At our assembly this week we were able to acknowledge a number of our students for their fantastic mahi.
We are lucky enough to have the support of Kindness Collective Foundation, Contact Energy and Duffy Books in Homes who have provided funding, books and amazing Lego prizes to celebrate what our Mihi students have achieved!

Winter sports are in full swing now and our Mihi kids were fully involved this week!
Malcolm and Alfie represented Mihi in a combined schools rugby team competing for the Fell Cup (an annual Reporoa Valley competition that has been revived this year). They tackled and ran hard and had a great day with new friends!
Then last night was Friday night hockey in Taupō. Our Reporoa Valley Geysers (year 2-4) did amazingly well against Hilltop - everyone got involved and I’m noting the score as 1-1 even though we scored our goal in the opposition goal - whoops!
The Reporoa Valley Steamers (year 5-6) played amazingly as a team and notched up their first win beating Wairakei 2-1 and successfully defending 11 PCs just before full time! (The ref kept count!)
They all earnt the hot chips last night!
