Sometimes, relying solely on existing systems is insufficient.
It's crucial to recognise that these systems often prioritise their interests over ours, necessitating proactive measures to achieve our objectives with available resources.

Given the abundance of opportunities and talent within our collective, we should capitalise on the winter season to engage in strategic planning and collaborative efforts.

The tangible actions taken thus far are a testament to the dedication and hard work of individuals.

Reiterating the importance of unity, while individual efforts yield results, collective action amplifies our impact and potential.

Kia ora, whanau. Another stunning morning at Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahironukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu. Today is the starting point for a plan designed to eliminate the pests destroying our ngahere. It's a pressing issue. Walking through the ngahere, we notice its beauty, yet the ground in some places is barren. This means our children will inherit a barren landscape. Pests like goats, deer, and pigs are a considerable threat, and we also need to keep an eye out for pests such as possums and stoats. This is a constant concern for me. Together, we can achieve incredible results, and all kai will be shared. Mauri ora, whanau. Have a great

Tēnā koutou e te whānau, true progress and meaningful mahi thrive when we're supported by a community that shares our vision, values, and ethics, led by genuine and capable leaders.

To those who've embodied this spirit, ngā mihi - our collective efforts are moving us forward, safeguarding our taonga, tīpuna, whenua, and whakapapa.

We know what's needed to share our story. In a world pushing for uniformity, let's prioritise balance and celebrate the opportunities we're creating for our community and region. Mauri ora e te whānau.

As the first light breaks over Te Taumata, the world seems to breathe again.

The sun rises slowly across
Te Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu,
casting gold across the hills, the carvings, the stories, the footsteps of those who came before us.
In that quiet moment, the whenua glows - alive, ancient, and full of promise.

This dawn reminds us that nothing stands alone.
Every beam of light, every shadow, every breath of wind carries a message, we rise strongest when we rise together.

Transparency keeps our path clear.
Kotahitanga keeps our hearts aligned.
And when we move as one - open, honest, and united -
the mauri of this place shines even brighter.

He ao hou, he tīmatanga hou - a new dawn, a renewed commitment.
Together, we honour the past, uplift the present, and protect the future.

Mauri ora e te whānau — look at this taonga glowing under the moonlight

Some places don’t just sit on the land - they breathe with it.

Standing here at Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu you can feel the heartbeat of our tīpuna in the hills, the stillness of the evening, and the quiet strength of the whenua holding our stories.

But what makes this place truly powerful isn’t just the name or the landscape.
It’s the people who show up.
The ones who carry posts, lift signs, share kōrero, protect the mauri, and walk this journey together.

Because when we move as a collective -
when hands, hearts, and whakapapa align -
the mahi becomes lighter, the vision becomes clearer, and the taonga becomes stronger.

This photo is a reminder that:
Our whenua thrives when we stand together.
Our stories live when we share the load.
Our future grows when we uplift one another.

Tonight, under the full moon, the mauri feels bright.
The kaupapa feels alive.
And the path forward feels guided by more than just us — but by every ancestor who walked these hills before.

Mauri ora, whānau. Keep walking together. Keep protecting what matters.
He taonga tuku iho. He kaupapa kotahi.
