Our highly popular workshops start 24 May with a range of activities to help you reduce waste and learn more about recycling. We’re also hosting collections of old and unwanted chemicals and electrical goods. Book now for the following workshop and events:

𝐒𝐈𝐏 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐄𝐖 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐏: 𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟒 𝐌𝐀𝐘. Ōtorohanga 9.30-11.30am: Council Chambers. Kāwhia 2-4pm: Kāwhia Community Hall. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, you’ll learn new sewing skills, have the opportunity to repair your own items, or create a sturdy tote bag from spare fabrics. In addition to household and garden chemicals, we have expanded to include old and unwanted electrical items, including computers, TVs, cables etc.

We are 𝐍𝐎𝐓 accepting whiteware any larger than microwaves at these events. We are planning a large whiteware event for later in 2026.

Such a great project to get behind 🫶

The Kahumoe Kaupapa – PJ Project is well and truly underway.

So many of us are fortunate to go to bed in warm PJs and so many are not. Since the beginning, this kaupapa has grown and we are proud to say that we have gifted new jammies to over 1400 people, last year!
