Help us to create the Tararua District Reserves Management Plan
Did you know that Council has more than 80 parks and reserves throughout the district that span about 310 hectares of parks and reserves? Thatโs roughly the same size as 310 rugby fields!
Council wants to develop a plan that will help us to make good decisions about our parks and reserves, and your preferences for how they are managed in the future.
This Reserves Management Plan is for all the reserves, domains, and park areas Council has decision-making responsibility for. Council would love to hear from you to create this management plan.
You can have your say by going to this online survey, via:
www.tararuadc.govt.nz/reservesplan or send us an email on matters that you would like considered in the plan.
Comments collected through this process will be considered when
preparing the Draft Tararua District Reserves Management Plan,
which is intended to be released for public submissions in early 2024.
This plan will be based on what the public values about reserves.
The reserves management plan will include reserve land held subject to the Reserves Act 1977 and Local Government Act 2002.
In accordance with section 41 of the Reserves Act 1977 the Council
gives notice of its intention to undertake a comprehensive review
of the existing Dannevirke Domain Reserve Management Plan and
Akitio Reserve Management Plan to create one integrated Reserves
Management Plan for the Tararua District.
