We also want to thank Alex for all her mahi her last day was yesterday and some how this snuck up waay too fast on me and I wasn't prepared to say goodbye 😭

Here are some words from Alex and a lil update ❤️

"After so many wonderful memories in the pool, yesterday was my last day teaching at the swim school as I am making the move to Tauranga for a new chapter!

To all of our amazing swim school whānau, thank you for trusting me with your little ones, for all the laughs, the milestones, and the smiles along the way. It has been such a privilege to be part of your swimming journeys, and I will miss you all! ❤️ I wish you all the best for 2026!"

Kia ora e te whānau 👋🏽

We hope you have enjoyed the long weekend so far❤️
Tomorrow is a day off for the 🤴 Kings Birthday so we will open back up for swimming on Tuesday 🏊‍♂️

We also just wanted to post to remind everyone that this week is the last week for Re-booking our current clients and then we crack into teacher changes and client requests for the weekend from 1pm Saturday 6th June. So get those bookings done and if you need to put a request in do so immediately please 😊
Brendon does most of the admin around this and works very hard to try accommodate everyone but with 600 students a week its a bit of a tricky jigsaw puzzle at times 🫣
Matua Erin popped in to visit and we have good news e te whānau 🤩 Term 3 he will be back 🎉 it will only be part time to ease back in with our school age tamariki first and then slowly we will work on easing in the shallow pre-school classes when he is upto it 👍🏽
Ngā mihi,
Brendon, Vaughan and the awesome team 😎

We hope you all had a lovely weekend celebrating significant wāhine you have in your lives 🥰

Speaking of significant wāhine 😊we want to introduce our newest team member Nicole ❤️ here are her own words about joining our kura kaukau whānau 🏊‍♀️

I’ve recently joined NPSOS on the front desk, working Monday to Wednesday mornings, supporting Brendon and Vaughan while Katelyn is on leave with her new pēpi.
I’m a mum to three beautiful girls, Kylee (5), Mackenzie (almost 4), and Bindi (2), who definitely keep life busy! After two years away from work raising them, I felt ready to do something for myself again, and I’m really enjoying being back in a work environment.
My background is in sales, so I love working with people and keeping things running smoothly at the front.

Ngā mihi Nicole for adding your skills to our team and for your tautoko ❤️ please feel free to drop a welcoming comment below or introduce yourselves if you see her in the tari 👍🏽

Kia ora e te whānau 👋🏽

We have a new Kaiako to introduce now 🤩 please help us welcome Jayde to our team!
Here is a little kōrero Jayde put together to help you get to know her and what brought her to our kura kaukau 🏊‍♂️

I’m just a girl who loves anything water - pool, ocean, river, I was a competitive swimmer and surf life saver growing up but took a different path & left for Netherlands to become an au-pair. Once I got back I did admin at Toi foundation then started my university journey doing correspondence with Victoria University doing my bachelor of commerce degree!
My friend Becki, who some of you may remember used to be a swim instructor here let me know of a position available, and with the help of Katelyn I am now apart of this amazing community.
I’m excited to get to know everyone and can’t wait to teach the kids so they can have the confidence and love in the water as I do!

Ngā mihi Jayde for joining our kura kaukau whānau and thanks to Becki and Katelyn for sending her our way 😁
Please make our new Kaiako feel welcome and introduce yourself if you see her around the puna kaukau 🏊‍♀️ or feel free to drop a comment here 😊
Pō mārie,
Brendon and Vaughan ❤️

Kia ora e te whānau 👋🏽
It's time for our meet the Kaiako post for the lovely Alex 🏊‍♀️ alot of you will know her already but come take a deeper dive into what brought Alex to our kura kaukau and her interests through her words below 👍🏽

I was a squad swimmer and Swimming Teacher in my mid-to-late teens at the Todd Energy Aquatic Centre. Such a rewarding job, it left a lasting impression on me and so I’m back! Especially with NPSOS as I heard wonderful and amazing things from friends and family.
I genuinely love working with children and am passionate about helping them understand their abilities, try new things, and reach their full potential. I thrive on seeing progress, confidence-building, and those proud “I did it!” moments at the end of a class.
My background is diverse, including time as a Military Medic, Radio Producer and Host, and working in the music industry in both New Zealand and London. I’m creative, bubbly, and theatrical, with a big love for music, singing, dancing, and making learning fun. As someone who is ADHD (neurodivergent/neurospicy!), I’m very aware of different learning styles and place strong emphasis on making every child feel safe, included, and valued.
After three years of travel, I’m excited to be back and eager to support and inspire our youth again in a positive way!

We are lucky to have Alex on our teamand smashing it at her mahi 🏊‍♀️
Ngā mihi,
Brendon and Vaughan ❤️

Kia ora e te whānau 👋🏽

We hope you all had a great break and just want to say ngā mihi to all the whānau who came along to our holiday programme 🏊‍♀️
It was cool to see the progress in those 5 days 👍🏽
Our 1st few days of Term 2 2026 have already started well too 😍

Sadly Matua Erin is still in recovery and also I (Vaughan) am off to have my tonsils taken out āpōpō 🫣 thankfully Leah, Alex and Boss Man Brendon will have everything under control and we are very sorry if this causes any inconvenience for your whānau ❤️ we pride ourselves on our consistency of teacher but we really must look after our Kaiako health too
Also no news from Katelyn about Pepi coming yet but we will keep you posted 🥰

Stay safe in that wind out there and see you when I can get back in the puna kaukau and hopefully sing a bit better 🤣

Kia ora e te whānau 👋🏽
We hope you all had a great long weekend for Waitangi ❤️
We have a new Kaiako to introduce now 🎉
This is Lea pronounced Lay-uh 👍🏽 and this is her reason for becoming a swim teacher and her hobbies in her own words 😊

I decided to join the swim school team as swimming has always been in my life! I love to share the joy of being in the water, as I grew up in 7 countries swimming has always been my place I call home 😊 I am on my second year of international politics at Massey university and I love art, sports and spending my days off at the beach with the people I love 🤍

Ngā mihi to Lea for joining our kura kaukau whānau so smoothly 😁 and please make our new Kaiako feel welcome with a comment or introduce yourself if you see here around the puna kaukau 🏊‍♀️
