There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a new playground come to life, especially when the students helped choose it themselves. Marshall Laing School recently upgraded their playground, which includes the new Adventure Climber, and the feedback has been nothing short of amazing! By involving the children in the selection process, Marshall Laing has created a space where student agency and active play go hand-in-hand.

Check out the seamless integration of this playground at Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Koutu in Rotorua. The goal was to create a high-capacity playground that didn't feel out of place in its lush green environment, and by combining natural timber posts with deep green accents, we were able to achieve a grounded, organic look. But don’t let the calm colours fool you, this play area is packed with adventure, from the towering spiral slide and taniwha swing, to the spinning action of the Orion.

We’re heading to Hamilton!

The team is so excited to be exhibiting at the Green Pavlova 2026 conference starting tomorrow. We’ll be at Claudelands Events Centre from the 13th to the 15th of May, ready to chat about all things play, design, and community spaces.

To make the week even better, we are incredibly proud to have two playgrounds named as finalists in the Recreation Aotearoa Parks Awards that are happening this Thursday night! Specifically, we're crossing our fingers for the Joy Cowley Children’s Playground, a finalist for Playspace of the Year (Over $500k). Being recognised alongside such high-caliber projects is a huge honour for our team and partners.
