Your Donation Receipts Are Ready!
A massive thank you to everyone who has generously supported Te Whai Community Trust over the past year. Your kindness directly impacts our community!

Donation receipts have officially been sent out to everyone for whom we have contact details.

Did you donate between 1 April 2025 and 31 March 2026?
Haven't received your receipt yet?

Please let us know so we can sort that out for you! Drop us a quick email at: [email protected]

💡 Did You Know? You Can Claim 33.33% Back!
As a registered charity, your donations to Te Whai qualify for a donation tax credit with Inland Revenue.

If you donate more than $5, you can claim back 33.33% of your total donation amount. That means for every $100 you gave, you can get $33.33 back in your pocket!

How to claim your refund:

Simply upload your electronic or scanned receipts directly into your MyIR online account.

Via an IR3 return: Include the total amount when you file your end-of-year tax return.

Once processed, the IRD will pay the tax credit straight into your bank account.

🔥 Pro-Tip for Donors: when the IRD pays that 33.33% tax credit directly into your bank account, you can keep it, OR you can donate it back to charity! It’s an incredible way to make your original donation go even further without dipping back into your own pocket!

Thank you again for making a difference! 💙

We want to send a huge, heartfelt thank you to for their incredible support through the recent Spirit of Mangawhai Golf Tournament!

A big shout-out also goes to our very own Te Whai team, who took up the challenge, hit the greens, and had an absolutely fantastic day out for a truly wonderful cause. ☀️

The event achieved something truly remarkable, helping to raise an amazing $100,000! This incredible total will go directly toward supporting many of the awesome clubs, charities, and organisations (including Te Whai!) that make Mangawhai such a vibrant, supportive, and great place to live and play.

ANNOUNCING THE NEWEST MANGAWHAI PĀTAKA KAI!
We are absolutely thrilled to officially open our brand-new Pātaka Kai (Community Pantry), now available for everyone in Mangawhai!

To make this launch even more special, our pātaka was generously built by Caidan Brien of Younger Builders Ltd. Caidan actually won his regional Apprentice of the Year competition while building it - and we have just heard the news that he has taken out the top spot at the National NZCB Apprentice Challenge! 🏆

Huge congratulations, Caidan! It is incredibly special that you used your award-winning skills to build something so meaningful for our community. Between Caidan's top-tier craftsmanship and Shann Whittaker’s beautiful artwork, Mangawhai has scored a truly world-class community pantry.

📍 Where to Find It
Come check out Caidan's incredible work and drop off or pick up some goods. You’ll find the Pātaka Kai located at:
👉 The gate to Te Whai Community House, 73 Moir Street (inside the Mangawhai Domain, by the 10km sign).

❤️ How It Works:
"Take what you need, leave what you can"

Our pātaka kai runs on a simple, community-led principle. If you have spare fruit from your trees, extra veggies from the garden, or some non-perishable pantry staples, please feel free to pop them inside to share with your neighbours.

If you are running a bit short this week, please come and take what you need to help tie you over.

A few quick guidelines to keep it safe and helpful:

🍏 Food & produce only: Fresh fruit, veggies, and unopened pantry staples are very welcome.

❌ No household goods: Please do not leave clothing, toys, or household items here (as we don't have the space to manage them).

🧺 Need a Little Extra Support?
We know that times are tough, and sometimes you need a bit more than what’s in the pantry. If you or a local whānau are going through a particularly challenging patch, you can reach out to us to register for an Aroha Food Basket - designed as a helping hand when things get tight.

Please reach out to our team in complete confidence:

A massive thank you again to Caidan Brien and Shann Whittaker for bringing this to life.

Come by, take a look, take what you need, and let's keep taking care of each other Mangawhai!
