Our 2026 Mangaroa School Flipperball team had their first practice today at H20. They practiced some goal scoring, throwing the ball and working as a team.

🏑 Floorball Success! 🇳🇿

A massive shout-out to past students Hyugo Preston, Fletcher Coslett, and Jamie Gwyn for being selected for the New Zealand Under-19 Men's Floorball Team! They are off to Singapore this August.

Adding to the excitement, Mrs Rice's son, Caleb Rice, has also made the squad!

We are so proud to see our community represented on the international stage. Best of luck to the whole team! 🎉

What a fantastic afternoon at Mangaroa School! 🚒

The day kicked off with a bit of extra drama when the fire truck got stuck on the field! A huge shoutout to Smith Contracting for quickly coming to the rescue (Phew!) so the festivities could begin.

A massive thank you to our wonderful parents for helping set up and run the stations, and to everyone who came along to cheer us on. It was brilliant to see such a great turnout for this fun event!

Special mention to our parents who bought tyres, dug the mud pit, brought hay bales and to Upper Hutt City Council for the rugby post bags.

Emergency School Closure – Tuesday, 21 April

Kia ora koutou,

With the latest update from Hutt City Council advising bridge closures and engineers assessing access routes tomorrow, we have made the decision to close our school on Tuesday, 21st April.

This decision has been made with our Board Presiding Member and is aligned with the collective decision-making of the Upper Hutt Principals’ Association.

Making the call now gives all whānau clarity for planning and ensures we are prioritising the safety of our tamariki, staff, and wider community. Travel across the region is already significantly disrupted, and conditions are expected to remain hazardous overnight.

Please stay safe, avoid unnecessary travel, and look after one another. We will continue to monitor updates and share any further information as needed.
