🚨 SEVERE WEATHER WARNING – STAY SAFE 🚨

With severe weather expected, we’re asking our community to take extra care and be prepared.

💨 Strong winds
• Secure loose outdoor items like bins, trampolines, and garden furniture
• Watch for fallen trees, powerlines, and debris

🔥 Fire safety still matters
• Never leave cooking unattended – emergencies stretch resources, so prevention is key
• Keep access to your property clear in case emergency services are needed

🏠 General safety tips
• Check on neighbours, especially elderly or vulnerable
• Charge phones and have torches ready
• Have a plan if you need to leave quickly

👩‍🚒 Our crews are ready, but we need your help to stay safe and reduce unnecessary risk.

If it’s dangerous, don’t take the chance.

📞 In an emergency, call 111

Stay safe everyone 💛

Daylight Saving ends this Sunday, 5 April. As you turn your clocks back one hour, take a moment to check your smoke alarms.

Press the test button to make sure they’re working, and go over your escape plan with your whānau. It’s also a good time to clean any dust from your alarms to help prevent false alarms.

Remember, you can’t smell smoke while you’re asleep—so make sure your alarms are ready to keep your family, home, and community safe.

That’s one way to describe it…😏

MetService New Zealand forecasters are expecting a “moist, unstable, north westly flow” over Taranaki. A technical way of saying the weather may turn unsettled with thunderstorms possible.

When: 2am – 11pm, Thursday (15 Jan)
Where: Across Taranaki
There’s a moderate risk of severe thunderstorms, with bursts of heavy rain (around 25-40mm an hour).

🌧️This kind of downpour could lead to:
Surface or flash flooding
Slips, especially near streams and rivers
Dangerous driving conditions

✔️Now’s a good time to do a quick check:
Clear gutters and drains
Secure loose outdoors items
Take care on the roads and allow extra travel time if needed.

A different kind of challenge for one of members, Operational Support Kevin Paul Barnard will be playing 72 holes of golf in a single day on the 21st of December 2025.

He is doing this to raise funds for those who are fighting and have fought cancer. Kevin will carry his bag and not use a golf cart or a trundler because those who have fought cancer have carried a lot more.

Every donation over $30 will have a message/name placed on a custom t-shirt that he will wear on the day. Just leave a name with the donation and I'll put it on the shirt.

Ka mau te wehi 💪🔥🔥
