🌟 Ngā Mihi Nui ki tō Tātou Hapori Kura 🌟

A heartfelt thank you to all our whānau who joined us for our Matariki Whānau Afternoon.
It was wonderful to see our classrooms filled with families enjoying the beautiful activities and learning experiences prepared by our students and staff. The shared kai was amazing and reflected the generosity and manaakitanga of our Taitoko School community.
A special thank you to everyone who supported our Year 7/8 Camp fundraiser through donations and our sausage sizzle. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and will help our students as they prepare for camp.
Most of all, thank you for taking the time to come together, connect, celebrate and share in the spirit of Matariki. It truly was a beautiful afternoon and a wonderful reminder of the strength of our school community.

🌟 Matariki Whānau Afternoon 🌟

A friendly reminder that our Matariki Whānau Afternoon is happening tomorrow, Thursday 11 June, from 3:30pm – 4:45pm.

✨Come along and join your tamariki in Matariki activities in their classrooms.
🥗 Please bring a plate of shared kai if you are able.
🌭 Our Year 7/8 students will be running a sausage sizzle fundraiser for camp. A gold coin donation would be greatly appreciated.

We look forward to celebrating Matariki together as a school community. 🌟

📢 Reminder: School will be closed to students on Friday 12 June for a Teacher Only Day. Staff will be participating in professional learning focused on Assessment for Learning.

🇼🇸 Fa'afetai lava, Taitoko Kindy! 🇼🇸
Today, a group of our Pasifika students had the privilege of visiting Taitoko Kindy to help celebrate the end of Samoan Language Week.
Our tamariki shared songs and joined in the celebrations, creating a wonderful opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate together. It was fantastic to see our students proudly sharing their culture and being positive role models for our younger learners.
A huge thank you to Taitoko Kindy for inviting us and for continuing to strengthen the connections between our kura and early childhood community. These opportunities help build a strong sense of belonging and pride in who we are.

Today at Taitoko School we proudly wore pink to celebrate kindness, inclusion, and standing together. 💗

Pink Shirt Day is a reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big difference. It was awesome seeing our tamariki and staff showing what it means to support one another, celebrate differences, and create a school where everyone feels safe, valued, and connected.

From bright pink outfits to big smiles, the school was full of positivity today. Thank you to our whānau and community for always supporting the values we continue to grow together at Taitoko.

Our junior team have been making the most of play times by creating amazing things with our loose parts, exploring and enjoying nature, and working together with friends. It has been wonderful to see the creativity, teamwork, and imagination our students are showing every day.

A big thank you to Pete for making some of our equipment, our students are really enjoying using them and they have added so much fun and excitement to our play spaces.

🔬✨ Science in action at Taitoko! ✨🔬

Our middle and senior tamariki had an awesome day out at the Science Roadshow! From hands-on experiments to mind-blowing demonstrations, there was plenty of curiosity, excitement, and learning happening.

It was fantastic to see our tamariki asking questions, exploring new ideas, and connecting their learning to the world around them, exactly what being a learner is all about! 👏

A big thank you to the Science Roadshow team for bringing science to life for our students.

✨ Meet Our Student Leaders for 2026 ✨

We are proud to introduce our Student Representatives for this year: Mark, Samson, Paige, Perise, Saunia and Anne.

A special congratulations to our Head Boy, Mark, and Head Girl, Paige 👏

These tamariki will be role models in our kura, showing what it means to be Safe, Respectful, and a Learner, while representing student voice and helping lead our school.

We are excited to see them grow in confidence and leadership throughout the year 💙
