SWEET - South Working to Enable and Empower Teens A local youth-orientated project encouraging collaboration between five Government agencies - Health, Police, Education, Justice and Social Development.

SWEET (South Working to Enable and Empower Teens) is the name for the South Taranaki Social Sector Trial. The trial is a nationwide programme and in Taranaki it is being lead by Tui Ora.

Thursday 9th of April 10am - 12pm including Morning Tea
(Eltham Town Hall)

Kaponga/Manaia District
Thursday 9th of April 630pm - 8pm including Supper
(Kaponga Community Hall)

Seeking community input

We are looking for expressions of interest from youth, whānau, community members and local business people wishing to attend a series of public meetings.

The meetings are run by the South Taranaki Social Sector Trial

We’re working on better outcomes for the youth of our region:
• reducing youth offending
• reducing truancy
• reducing alcohol, drug & other substance abuse
• increasing education, training and employment

Our meetings will be in Hawera, Opunake, Patea, Waverley, Eltham and Kaponga between March 31 – April 9.

The SWEET team wishes you a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year.

The SWEET office in Hawera will close on December 24 for the Christmas/New Year period and reopen on Monday 5 January 2015.
Thanks to all the individuals, schools and organisations we have worked with this year. We look forward to continued collaboration in 2015.

We are pleased to announce that the Hawera Youth Space is now officially open: 62 Regent Street, Hawera

It will now be known as "Youth@62" established after their naming competition that ended 31 August 2014.

Drop-In Opening hours
Thursdays: 3-6pm (Connex)
Fridays: 4:30pm-late (Ruaputahanga Maori Wardens)
Saturdays: 2-5pm (Hawera Baptist Church)
