Kia ora koutou

Today we took the time to celebrate our wonderful support staff – the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes and alongside our tamariki every day.

John keeps our grounds and pool in top shape and is always on hand for those never-ending “just one more job” requests.
Tahlia, Jessie and Aria work closely with our learners, supporting reading, writing and maths as well as other classroom programmes, while building the kind of positive relationships that make such a difference.
Mandy is the welcoming face of our school, ensuring everything in reception runs smoothly while juggling the many demands of administration with ease.
Rita keeps our library thriving, supporting both our school and wider community.
Chloe does an outstanding job keeping our classrooms clean and cared for, and has recently taken on the additional role of gardener, helping ensure our school grounds continue to flourish.
Quite simply, our school would not function as it does without this incredible team.

We also acknowledge that change is on the horizon. We will soon farewell Tahlia as she prepares to start her family, and Aria as she heads off on a new adventure up North. These are exciting next steps for both of them, but they will be deeply missed by staff and tamariki alike.

We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of our support staff – thank you for all that you do. Thank you also to the board members who were able to come for morning tea to help celebrate.

Community Spirit in Action

Today, this group of senior kids added another activity to the list of ways they’ve recently helped in the community - they helped clear debris from flood-damaged farm fences following last week’s flooding.

They worked hard, represented the school brilliantly, and still managed plenty of laughs along the way, before finishing with a well-deserved ice cream at Rays Place.

Opportunities like these are helping our kids develop a strong sense of community, responsibility and belonging. We are very proud of them and the way they continue to give back to others.
