He raukura tēnei i te kura o Manuhiwi, ko Maarire Komene. Takotohia te manuka e ia ki ngā rangatahi!
E poho kererū ana mātou i a koe, e Maarire.
Maarire is a past student of Manuhiwi. Her passion for politics was evident way back then, and here she is today laying down the challenge to our rangatahi! Kia kaha koutou!
We are proud of you, Maarire!
This week is Youth Week & I want to celebrate the beautiful voices of our rangatahi. One of my favourite parts of being an MP has been meeting absolutely talented, courageous, kind, empathetic, community-focussed rangatahi. Eager to support, never shy to challenge & always stand up for what they believe in.
This week I want to elevate the voices of some of our Te Tai Hauāuru rangatahi.
Over the past term with this Govt we have seen a suite of policies affecting rangatahi including the recent fees free cut, education & public transport cuts, harsher benefit sanctions, military style boot camps, soaring unemployment - not to mention the impact of the cost of living & fuel crisis.
We must have rangatahi voices shaping the next Govt!
