We are back and ready…Bring on 2026! 🗓️
🚜 It's baaaaack .....
AgFest, the West Coast’s largest and most eagerly anticipated agricultural event, is set to return to Greymouth on October 16 – 17, 2026.
Following the success of the 2024 event, AgFest is moving back to its traditional spring date. The event will be held the weekend before Labour Weekend at the Grey District Council’s aerodrome site.
AgFest Co-Director Andy Thompson says the date is strategically chosen.
“The October date hits the sweet spot between calving and mating in the dairy sector. We’ve run two very successful events at this time of year before, and we’re confident 2026 will be another,” Mr Thompson said.
“All the favourites will be back, from machinery and farming to lifestyle, and we’re working on some exciting new attractions too. We’re also grateful for the continued support of the Grey District Council.”
Exhibitor bookings open on August 1, 2025. Returning exhibitors will have until October 1 to secure their current sites. After that, the remaining spots will be offered on a first-in, first-served basis.
Grey District Mayor Tania Gibson says AgFest is a major highlight for the region.
“The economic development boost that AgFest brings is a big win,” Mayor Gibson said.
“We love hosting AgFest – it’s a time of great excitement for our community, and we work closely with organisers to ensure its continued success.”
First held in Hokitika in 2012, AgFest has become a key event for the rural sector, drawing thousands of attendees and exhibitors from across New Zealand. The 2026 event will mark the fifth time the Greymouth Aerodrome has hosted the event.
AgFest celebrates every aspect of rural life and offers something for everyone, from big machinery and agri-tech to lifestyle products, food trucks, entertainment and more 🎡. Past highlights include children’s fairground rides and even a full-scale two-bedroom show home relocated onsite for the 2024 show.
