Farewell for Miss H (Mrs C)

Today we held a special assembly to farewell Miss H. The beautiful gifts and cards show just how much she is loved and will be missed by us all.
We wish her all the best as she heads off on the next chapter of her teaching career as an RTLB for the Taupo Cluster.

Hi whānau

Just a reminder that we have our Fun Run coming up this Friday 19th June (fingers crossed re the weather!) in place our our annual cross country event. We have invited our local cluster schools and have had confirmation from Kaingaroa Forest School attending. We are finalising a timetable so you can see when your child is participating and will share this asap. Remember to send along a light coloured t-shirt and a change of clothes as they might get "a little bit wet" and colourful. All in good fun and to encourage 100% participation. In saying that, as the weather is cooler please send along a warm jacket and clothing incase there is a bit of a nip in the air. There will also be hot drinks for sale.

We will need parent helpers to help guide, encourage, splash, and hold at different points along the way so please step in and help if you are asked. We have deliberately made the track so you should be able to see your child compete no matter where you are on the track.

Thank you in advance and lets hope the weather is on our side on Friday.

📚DUFFY IN SCHOOL 📖

Yesterday, the Duffy Theatre came to visit! This awesome show is part of the Duffy Books in Homes programme, which inspires kids to love reading. Our students absolutely loved the performance and were so engaged. The story taught them an important lesson about finding a healthy balance between books and electronic gadgets! 🙂

🏔️ Hillary Outdoors 2026 & Whānau Farewells 🏔️
Our three amazing girls have returned safe and sound from their Hillary Outdoors Leadership Camp this week! They braved some truly fierce weather and built incredible leadership skills that will serve them well both now and into the future. We are so proud of you all and can't wait to hear all about your adventures when we see you back at school next week!

A Massive Thank You 🙏
We owe a huge shout-out to Graeme Taylor from Broadlands School. We are incredibly grateful for the immense effort he puts in year after year, securing the fundraising needed to keep this camp affordable for our whānau. Thank you, Graeme, for making this opportunity possible for our tamariki!

Haere Ra to the Baxter Family 🚜🌾
On a bittersweet note, we want to wish a fond farewell to Chalee, Franke, and the rest of the Baxter family as they head off on their next adventure, farming a little further down the North Island. You are all going to be dearly missed here at Galatea School. We wish you nothing but health, happiness, and success in this exciting next chapter of your lives.
