Happy Mother’s Day to all❣️

Today we celebrate every woman—whether you are career or volunteer, operational or non-operational. From the frontline to our Comcen dispatchers, and our fire safety, admin, and support teams: your dedication keeps our communities safe.

We also honour our motherly figures, special loved ones and the "village" of partners, friends, and whānau who support your mahi so you can answer the call. Thank you for the sacrifices you make and the strength you bring to the job every day.
Stay safe and enjoy your day! 🚒

Happy International Fire Fighters Day.

Cyclone Vaianu

As you will be aware, Cyclone Vaianu is approaching New Zealand, with impacts forecast for the upper North Island over the weekend.

While Wellington is not expected to experience a direct landfall, the region may still be affected by strong winds, heavy rain, and possible road closures, particularly around high tides and coastal swell.

Please take sensible precautions:

· Secure loose items around your home

· Plan travel carefully and allow extra time if driving

· Follow local updates and heed any official warnings

· Check in on family, neighbours, and whānau where possible

If you have concerns about your home or the wellbeing of your family or whānau, the following website provides helpful guidance on how to prepare and stay safe:

Please prioritise your safety and wellbeing.

Stay safe and take care.

It’s up to you to make sure your whānau know what to do and that you all have what you need to get through. Follow these easy steps to get your household ready.

Good Afternoon.
We understand people in our community are concerned about the impact of the Middle East conflict on fuel, and it may be tempting to store extra fuel on your property. Fire and Emergency does not recommend this.
Fuel is a highly flammable substance, and storing large quantities of it comes with serious fire danger.
A fire involving fuel spreads rapidly and releases a lot of heat. Even a small spill can cause a devastating fire that will spread incredibly quickly.
Find further information on the storage of your existing fuel: ww.epa.govt.nz/everyday-environment/petrol/
