📢 Clevedon Village Blood Donation is happening on Tuesday 16 June, 1pm – 6pm and NZ Blood Service would LOVE to see you there 📢

If you’re eligible and available please consider taking some time out of your day to donate blood; this helps keep blood stocks up and meet hospital demand🩸

A single whole blood donation can be life changing for someone, but not everyone can donate, so please check this first:

✅ Check your eligibility here – https://www.nzblood.co.nz/become-a-donor/am-i-eligible/eligibility-quiz

✅ Have you travelled overseas? No worries – please check here - https://www.nzblood.co.nz/become-a-donor/am-i-eligible/donating-after-travelling

✅ Allow 1 hour for the whole process – up to 15 minutes donating (includes registration time, interview with nurse, donation time & resting time afterwards with some bikkies)

✅ Please remember to bring physical ID with you, drink plenty of water (1.5L within 24 hours of donation) & please do not donate on an empty stomach, make sure you’ve eaten a meal within a couple of hours of donating.

If you tick these boxes, simply walk in on Tuesday arvo or book an appointment online -

Three years ago, Clevedon North was just another new development on the edge of Auckland’s rural fringe, tidy homes, fresh fences, and the quiet uncertainty of strangers unpacking boxes behind closed doors. Today, it feels like something much rarer: a village.

What started as a small “get to know you” coffee catch-up when there were fewer than 15 houses has grown into something no one could have planned — walking school buses, after-school play dates, quiz nights, run clubs, cricket teams, Christmas parties, Halloween chaos, golf tournaments, and neighbours who genuinely show up for one another.

One of the first things residents realised was how important it was to all of them that the kids could play outside, and so they purchased “go slow” signs to place around the neighbourhood, and now in the evenings the streets are filled with children riding bikes and playing together.

It’s the kind of place where doors are knocked on, not texted. Where fresh produce is shared, fundraisers are supported, and someone always knows where the kids are.

In a world that can feel increasingly disconnected, Clevedon North is a reminder of what community can still look like.

📢 Your voice matters, Clevedon!

Two important pieces of community consultation are currently underway and we’d love for you to get involved and help shape the future of our community and our village.

First up, the Ministry of Education is consulting on a proposal to extend Howick College's enrolment zone to include limited parts of Clevedon, specifically around North Road and Clevedon Village south to Tourist Road.

A recent survey found that after leaving Clevedon School, our youth dispersed to 28 different schools across Auckland and the Waikato. The same survey highlighted the stress and anxiety this fragmentation placed on young people and their families and the toll it takes on our community's social fabric. This consultation is our opportunity to change that.

The proposed change could give some local students a guaranteed right to enrol at Howick College, building on the learning pathways that have been developed in our community over recent years. But the proposed amendment currently excludes much of the Clevedon School enrolment zone thus making the opportunity available to only a portion of our local youth.

🗓️ Consultation is open now until Friday 29 May 2026.

👉 Check the Ministry of Education website for details on how to submit feedback.

Secondly, more Clevedon Village pedestrian safety improvements!

Following successful consultation on a pedestrian crossing for our village last year, Auckland Transport is now proposing safety upgrades at two more locations in Clevedon Village, and they want to hear from you before designs are finalised.

What's being proposed?

- The Papakura–Clevedon Rd / North Rd roundabout – better pedestrian crossings, improved accessibility ramps, and tweaks to accommodate buses and heavy vehicles (don't worry – the planted central island stays! 🌿)

- Clevedon–Kawakawa Rd near the school back gate – red surfacing, side islands and SLOW markings to slow traffic down, plus safer options for people on bikes.

🗓️ Consultation is open now until Thursday 21 May 2026.

👉 Have your say during the consultation period.
