A new face confirmed for Riccarton Community Board - welcome Joseph

Riccarton — with the official Christchurch City Council election results released on Thursday, I'm honoured to be elected one of your representatives on the Waipuna Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board, alongside Helen Broughton and the incredible Tyla Harrison-Hunt- Councillor for Riccarton.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to represent you and advocate for our communities. There's a fantastic few years of mahi ahead and I can't wait to get stuck in.

I'd be remiss not to thank everybody who put time and energy into our wonderful campaign. Unfortunately my wonderful running mate Tom hasn't made it across the line this time, but without Tom's efforts none of this would have been possible.

To all the Riccarton candidates, thank you for making this a competitive race with real choice for Riccarton. And everybody who's volunteered and supported us during this election campaign, you were absolutely invaluable. I've enjoyed every minute of the campaign and I'm so grateful to you all.

Ngā mihi nui.

Riccarton, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!
After the preliminary vote count has come in, I’ve been successful in being your councillor for another term.

To all of our amazing volunteers, supporters and friends. You’re the best. Countless hours have gone into this campaign and I couldn’t have done it without you.

I’d also like to acknowledge the other candidates, Tony, Debbie, Sam and Mark for being part of the race. What a great turnout of candidates.

A huge congrats to Helen Broughton and my mate Joseph Fullerton for Riccarton Community Board for being successful in the community board seats.

While I celebrate these wins, I’d also like to personally acknowledge two people.

Sara Templeton, who has taught me so much over the 3 years on being in Council. I’ve learned about what good governance looks like. I saw her passion, her mana and grace. She inspired me immensely and always put people and the city first.

Lastly, my good friend Tom Unger, who wasn’t successful this time around. But together, we made leaps and bounds. An absolute champion of a human, and deserving of all things good.

So, now I get back to work and I’m able to get the ball rolling from day one.

Let’s keep moving Christchurch!

Andrea will be a new face on ECan

Thankyou to all the wonderful voters and volunteers who helped get me elected to Environment Canterbury.

My priorities for this term are simple.
1. Protecting drinking water sources in Canterbury from further nitrate contaminaton.
2. Continue to highlight the on land solutions for creating healthy urban and rural waterways. Currently too much contamination (sediment and nutrients) end up in our marine environment.

My bottom line is refusing to leave behind mess for our children to clean up. Ngā mihi, tena koe.

Thanks Keir

Thanks Keir

Thank you to the voters in Cashmere for re-electing me to the Community Board. As always, big acknowledgement to the volunteers who helped out on this campaign.

Congratulations to Tim Scandrett City Councillor for his re-election and to Kate Hodgins for her election. Commiserations to Craig Watson who ran a strong campaign with clear distinctive values.

I’m going to miss working with Lee. He was a diligent, effective Board member who asked sharp questions and always brought it back to his values of fairness, voluntarism, and environmentalism.
