Youth Engagement and Education at Environment Canterbury Youth engagment and education The EfS team is part of our regional council, Environment Canterbury.

We develop, design and provide resources as well as programme facilitation to schools in our region. Our team is made up of qualified and certificated teachers who have taught in both primary and secondary schools in NZ & overseas.

The NZAEE Speech Competition is back for 2025, and this year’s theme is MAKING WAVES: Our ocean, our future, our responsibility 💙

To get students involved, a series of free workshops are happening across Christchurch in March & April. These sessions will help build inspiration, spark ideas, and help shape powerful speeches for the finals on July 25 at Tūranga.
