TWO IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

POSTPONEMENT - STAFF ONLY DAY 29 MAY 2026
A reminder that tomorrow’s scheduled Staff Only Day has been postponed until Term 3. Students are therefore expected to attend school as normal tomorrow (Friday, 29 May 2026).

A new date has tentatively been set for Friday, 21 August 2026. More details will be shared closer to the time.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

KING'S BIRTHDAY WEEKEND
This weekend is King's Birthday weekend, with the public holiday being observed on Monday, 1 June 2026. Please note that the school will be closed for instruction on this day.

We wish all students and their whānau a safe, restful, and enjoyable long weekend.

NCEA INFORMATION EVENINGS.

We have two upcoming NCEA Information Evenings in Weeks 4 and 5 for students and whānau. These sessions are designed for students in Years 10–13 and will cover the basics of NCEA, along with information about University Entrance.

The second evening is specifically aimed at our migrant families, with translator support available. However, all whānau are welcome to attend either session.

Please note that these sessions will not cover the new qualifications set to replace NCEA from 2028.

NCEA Information Evening #2 (Migrant Families)
Tuesday 19 May
Riccarton High School Staff Room
6.00pm – 7.30pm
Translator support will be available for: Tagalog, Chinese, Farsi/Dari, Somali, Arabic, and Tigrinya.
