I’m reaching out to share an upcoming community initiative Counties Manukau Sport Give-It-A-Go as a part of Out & About Auckland’s Winter Programme, and to explore whether you might be happy to help us spread the word to your community.

This event is designed to create a welcoming, low-pressure space for seniors, mums with babies, and anyone new to physical activity to connect, move, and enjoy social wellbeing. It’s all about gentle activity, social connection, and creating a positive community experience.

On the day, participants can take part in:

Beginner-friendly pickleball
Walking basketball and netball (no running or jumping)
An e-bike experience zone
A safe indoor play space for babies and toddlers

🕙 Event Details:
Dates: Fri 19 June, Mon 22 June, Fri 26 June, Mon 6 July
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm
Format: Drop in, explore activities, and participate at your own pace

We’d love your support in sharing this opportunity with your networks, whether that’s through your newsletter, social channels, or directly with your members.

I’ve attached a flyer for easy sharing, and you can find more details here:

✨ CALLING ALL VENDORS & STALL HOLDERS ✨

Expressions of Interest are now open for our Matariki 2026 Maakete! 🌌🔥

This year, our kaupapa is inspired by Te Mura — a sacred ridge and significant viewpoint of Waimaahia shared through the stories of mana whenua, Te Ākitai Waiohua.

Te Mura means “to glow” or “be alight,” symbolising far more than fire alone. It speaks to the warmth and comfort of home, nourishment, protection, strong foundations, and the growth of people and community. From this ridge, the glow of many home fires once stretched across the whenua — a powerful reminder of connection, belonging, and the enduring presence of whānau throughout Waimaahia.

As we gather to celebrate Matariki and the Māori New Year, we invite creatives, makers, artists, kai vendors, small businesses, community groups, and stall holders to help bring this kaupapa to life through your own interpretation of Te Mura.

Whether expressed through sound, vision, touch, taste, or smell — we encourage you to ignite the senses and share what warmth, connection, culture, and community mean to you.

🌟 We welcome a diverse range of stalls and offerings, with a special encouragement for Māori-owned businesses, local creatives, and community organisations to apply.

Come be part of an evening of connection, storytelling, creativity, kai, and celebration as we honour the rising of the new year together.
