Last night MRI participated in the TOI Wearable Arts competition for schools in New Zealand. This is a vibrant showcase of young talent, bringing design ideas to life and showcasing them in the Aotea Centre! We are excited that two MRI designs, selected based on design submissions, were accepted into this amazing showcase of Auckland/ New Zealand young talent.
Our MRI students had developed their designs as part of one of our electives of ‘fashion design'. They then had three weeks to bring their ideas to life. This included pattern making, sewing, hand sewing, crocheting, structural creating as part of the process.
We are so proud of the group of designers, the models and our wonderful visual art teacher Ms Goforth. It was an exciting opportunity, experience and event. Congratulations to all of those involved. Our MRI team represented us strongly and paved the way to inspire our future designers... offical photos to come ...
