He rangoā, he kōrero, he pou toko i te ora te tangata nei e takahi ana i te ao mārama

He Wātene Māori a Owen, he mema o te poari matua mo ngā wātene o motu no Te Tairawhiti.

He kākahu manaaki i tōna iwi, e tū pakari ana mō te haumaru me te ora o tōna hapori.
I whakatapu hoki ia i ōna rā ki te hāpai i te tangata, ki te whakakaha i te whānau, me te tautoko i ngā kaupapa oranga.
Kāore i mutu i reira — he pou hoki ia mō te taiao, he kaitiaki i te whenua, i te wai, me ngā taonga tuku iho.

Nā tōna kaha, tōna ngākau aroha, me tōna pono ki te mahi, kua mahue mai he tapuwae rangatira mō te hunga ka whai ake

Ahakoa kua ngaro atu ia i te tirohanga kanohi, ka mau tonu tōna wairua, tōna mahi, me tōna aroha ki roto i ā tātou maharatanga
