Are you a member of a club or organisation? Time is running out – act now to reregister! Search the Incorporated Societies register and check whether your society is registered under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022.

All incorporated societies must be reregistered under the 2022 Act by Sunday 5 April.

If they don’t, they will cease to exist as a legal entity and may lose access to their money, assets and property.
The committee will need to:

✔️ Provide a constitution which meets the requirements of the 2022 Act.
✔️ Hold a general meeting to approve the decision to reregister and adopt the new constitution.
✔️ Apply online to reregister.

Incorporated Societies must complete reregistration before Sunday 5 April.

Under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, all societies will need to have a disputes resolution process included in their constitution when they reregister with us.

The new Incorporated Societies Act 2022 provides disputes resolution clauses that societies may wish to adopt.

Did you know, once a society has reregistered under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, new members will need to provide consent to join?

This requirement doesn’t apply to existing members.

Societies continue to operate under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908, until such times as they reregister, the reregistration period will start in October 2023.

If your society wants to update its rules now, those rules must still comply with the current 1908 Act.
