What a great start to our day. We had TRC start our assembly off. Then our principals awards and PB4L awards, Room 4 presented their item about our core values, our Duffy awards, and Room 3 got the Tidy Kiwi Award and the choir sang too! A beautiful way to start the day and start the weekend.

Thank you to TRC for coming to our assembly this morning to speak to our students on being safe walking to school and home every day. They reminded us to STOP and LOOK left, right and left again and LISTEN for traffic BEFORR we cross the road.

It is great to see our students enjoying the sunshine during lunchtime. Our physical activity leaders were also busy on the field running an activity for our junior students.

Kia ora whanau,
We are sad to announce that Miss Zina Setefano, our Year 2/3 teacher in Room 6 is leaving Ruapotaka School. She is taking up a teaching position in Australia and leaves us at the end of Term 2. She has been at Ruapotaka School since July 2023. Although it is sad for us, we are excited for her as she prepares to start a new life abroad. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the staff and all our students, we wish her every success and thank her for her support and mahi she has done for our school and our community. We will miss you.

Thank you to all our parent volunteers for the Bunnings BBQ on Saturday. We have enough helpers for Saturday 20 June.

Thank you everyone who participated in our International Language Week. We chose to celebrate and learn about the Philippines and Sri Lanka this year. On Friday our students got to share all the things they had learnt about the culture they were studying and students got to taste some food from both countries for morning tea. Our staff also dressed up and also got to share a yummy morning tea from Sri Lanka and the Philippines. Adshaya and Shanu both did a beautiful dance from Sri Lanka in front of the whole school. Thank you to all our supporters for their help to make this week a success.
