Spent the day out at NZ Welding School running our second Transition 2 Work workshop, building up those soft skills our ākonga need to step confidently into the workforce. Proud of this small but mighty rōpū. ✨

Too often, the challenge isn't a lack of talent - it's a lack of connection between people, training, and opportunity.

For many Māori and Pasifika whānau, barriers such as transport, access to networks, confidence, and visibility of career pathways can make it difficult to take the next step into employment. At the same time, employers are looking for capable, work-ready people to join their teams.

TSI Māori and Pasifika Trades Training helps bridge that gap.

We bring together training providers, employers, and wrap-around support to create pathways into meaningful careers - supporting Māori and Pasifika learners to gain skills, build confidence, and transition into employment, while helping employers access and retain great talent.

When we get the system right, we're not just creating jobs. We're strengthening whānau, building workforce capability, and supporting a more inclusive economy for Auckland.

Last year, Programmed took on two of our graduates, Sio and Filipo. Within two months, both had secured permanent roles and continue to flourish in their careers today. Their stories are a powerful example of what can happen when the right support, training, and employment opportunities come together.

👉 If you're an employer interested in supporting the next generation of Māori and Pasifika talent, we'd love to hear from you.

Projekt YOU Day wrapped for another year! 🙌🏽

This year, we brought together 80+ ākonga and partners for a day grounded in whanaungatanga - focused on building connections, growing confidence, and supporting where our ākonga are heading next.

From the Build-a-Bridge Challenge (teamwork put to the test 👀) to hearing directly from our inspiring MPTT alumni, the day was full of insight, energy, and meaningful kōrero.

Huge thanks to MPTT Alumni Sio and Filipo for sharing their journeys - from studying construction at Oceania Career Academy to stepping into employment with Programmed Auckland. And to Wayne from Social Labour Supply for sharing labour market insights, Wendy for representing the MPTT, and MPTT Kaihautū Atarau for facilitating the panel.

See you next year! 🔥

A quick check-in with Sio and his response was:
“Low light - none, just learning heaps man 💯”

This is exactly what we love to see.
Working alongside employers who offer long-term, sustainable, and progressive employment opportunities for our whanau 🙌
