Hi locals,

Victoria Road is having a bit of a scaffolding era at the moment, with two separate sets of works underway.
Scaffolding is up on the Princess Building as restoration work gets started, and there is also scaffolding at 36 Victoria Road, affecting the Hospice Shop and nearby businesses, including Art in my Wardrobe and Time Capsule.

The Princess Building restoration draws on the original 1912 architectural drawings of the building, once known as Hardley’s Building – a lovely reminder of the craftsmanship and character of early 1900s Devonport.
It’s fantastic to see these buildings being looked after, but we also know works like this can make businesses a bit harder to spot or access as easily as usual.

All businesses remain open, with pedestrian access maintained, so please do keep popping in and supporting them while the works are underway.

The Devonport Star Trail is live! Nine local schools have designed stars inspired by the nine Matariki stars, and they’re hidden in shop windows up Victoria Road right now. Your job is to find them all.

Local businesses are also getting into the spirit by displaying star lanterns in their windows, so keep an eye out as you explore the village.
Grab an entry form from Devonport Library, hunt down all nine stars, and go in the draw to win a $300 voucher from a Devonport business of your choice. Tamariki 16 and under can enter, one entry per child.
