We’re highlighting a member who has become PDINZ – Alix Abanda

An existing Member (DINZ) who has gained up to five years experience as a practicing designer and attained a high level of professional competency in their design sector may apply to DINZ for professional Accreditation.

PDINZ acknowledges our Constitution’s Pou – recognition of excellence in professionalism and connecting and building relationships, but also being able to give something back to the community.

Alix Abanda, PDINZ – Beca, Associate – Lighting Specialist Lead

"One of my main motivations is to improve the visibility of lighting design within the wider design community. I’ve been doing that through projects, talks, and collaboration, and PDINZ feels like a natural next step to get that work recognise and to contribute more, especially in helping position lighting as a discipline in its own right in Aotearoa.”

Clip 1 of 4 from a great conversation with Noel Blackwell FDINZ, Duncan Shand FDINZ and Simon Coley PDINZ, who have been talking about this a bit lately... and thought it was high time they explained it themselves.

Thanks to Noel, Duncan, Simon and the crew for making this happen.

We’re highlighting a member who has become PDINZ – Billy Baxter

An existing Member (DINZ) who has gained up to five years experience as a practicing designer and attained a high level of professional competency in their design sector may apply to DINZ for professional Accreditation.

PDINZ acknowledges our Constitution’s Pou – recognition of excellence in professionalism and connecting and building relationships, but also being able to give something back to the community.

Billy Baxter, PDINZ – Bastion Aotearoa, Senior Designer

"Since moving to New Zealand, I've always looked to DINZ for a sense of community within the design industry. Through the Best Awards and the many inspiring events they've hosted, I've had countless conversations with talented, generous, and passionate people who have helped me feel connected to the creative community here.

Now feels like the right time for me to give something back. Becoming a PDINZ member is an opportunity to contribute to a profession and community that has given me so much, while continuing to champion design and support others in our industry.”
