🚨 PhD Position Available (Fall 2026) – Coastal Reconnaissance & Rapid Assessment
I am currently interested in connecting with strong candidates who may be interested in a future PhD opportunity (starting Fall 2026 in the United States) in the area of rapid reconnaissance and coastal hazards.
This opportunity is ideal for highly motivated candidates interested in field-based and data-driven research at the intersection of:
- Coastal Engineering
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Sensor Deployment & Field Instrumentation
- Reconnaissance (post-disaster / extreme events)
- Remote Sensing & Data Analysis
Strong candidates should have:
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Experience with MATLAB (or similar)
- A high level of independence and initiative
- Interest in both field work and laboratory research
- A Master’s degree in Civil, Coastal, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering (preferred)
- Initial research or professional experience (e.g., through internships, fieldwork, or prior projects)
This role involves hands-on deployments, data collection before and after extreme events, and translating observations into research outputs.
If you are passionate about working at the interface of engineering, hazards, and real-world impact, I would be happy to hear from you.
Due to the short timeline for this position, priority consideration will currently be given to applicants who already hold valid work authorization in the United States. ***
