Devi Bahadur Thapa Smriti NON PROFIT SOCIAL ORGANIZATION The Pratisthan is governed by an eleven-member, publicly elected and independent executive board.

Devibahadur Thapa Smriti Pratisthan is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 2000 with the mission of promoting community self-reliance and sustainable development. Officially registered with the Nuwakot District Administration Office, Bagmati Zone, Nepal, the organization has been a key driver of grassroots development in the region for over two decades. Formerly known as Shayam

Bahadur Thapa Development Trust (SBTDT), the organization has recently been renamed to Devibahadur Thapa Smriti Pratisthan in honor of its ongoing commitment to local legacy, leadership, and community service. It began its work in Samundradevi Village Development Committee (VDC) and has expanded to include neighboring VDCs within Nuwakot District. Key Initiatives and Achievements:

Water Access Project: Construction of a 10,000-litre water tank and collection system, ensuring safe drinking water access for the local community. Earthquake Reconstruction Efforts:

Successfully rebuilt a four-classroom block at Samundradevi Higher Secondary School after the devastating April 2015 earthquake. Currently leading the reconstruction of the historic Samundra Mai (Durga) Temple, which was completely destroyed during the disaster. The foundation owes its growth and success to the dedication of its founder members, committed board, active community participation, and the generous support of donors. Devibahadur Thapa Smriti Pratisthan remains steadfast in its vision to build resilient, self-reliant communities and to create sustainable, locally driven development in Nuwakot and beyond.
