Yak Ru Race probable for 2024

Dear Yak Ru Enduro Race Community,

First and foremost, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your unwavering support and enthusiasm throughout the years. Your passion for the Yak Ru Enduro Race has been the driving force behind this prestigious event, and we cannot thank you enough for being an integral part of our global family.

The past few years have been incredibly challenging for all of us. The COVID-19 pandemic and the devastating series of monsoon floods in 2021 took an unforeseen toll on our beloved region, and regrettably, we could not organize the race since 2020. We understand the eagerness and anticipation to return to the trails and again conquer the mighty Yak Ru Enduro.

We have been tirelessly working behind the scenes to make the next race possible. Our commitment to delivering a safe, unforgettable, and smoothly-run event remains steadfast, and we are deeply aware of our race's dreams and aspirations for you and riders worldwide.

However, in our pursuit of excellence, we also recognize the importance of patience and meticulous planning. We want to ensure that every aspect of the event is thoughtfully considered and that we can provide an exceptional racing experience while prioritizing the safety and well-being of everyone involved.

As we navigate the complexities and uncertainties brought about by the pandemic and the aftermath of the floods, we need a little more time to finalize the arrangements for the next Yak Ru Enduro Race. We want to do justice to the legacy of this event and create an environment where all participants can truly savour the spirit of competition, camaraderie, and adventure.

We promise you that this additional time will be well-spent. Our team is using it to explore innovative ways to enhance the race experience, reach out to potential sponsors, and establish even stronger ties with local communities to ensure a lasting positive impact.

Dear Yak Ru Enduro Community,

The government of Nepal has lifted the mandatory quarantine requirement for fully vaccinated travellers as of 24 September 2021. They have also announced the resumption of an arrival visa for fully vaccinated visitors or those who travel with a PCR negative report 72 hours before their departure in their home countries. In reality, it will take several more weeks to see procedures stabilize at our border entry points and Nepal’s diplomatic missions overseas for visitors to receive their visa formalities completed.

On a separate note, the recent monsoon rain had destroyed 80% of the road and bridge infrastructures to Manang. It will take some time and effort to get them repaired and operational.

As much as we would love to organize the YakRu Enduro race in November 2021, the reality is not in our favour. It still seems wishful thinking to hold any race this year. With a heavy but optimistic heart, we announce the postponement of the YakRu Enduro race until 2022. We thank those who have signed up for the race and automatically roll forward your deposits to the next race. We also thank and highly appreciate all of the volunteers out there who had made plans to participate in the World’s highest enduro MTB race.

Salute MANANG.

Monsoon is not over yet in Nepal and the full extent of the damage assessment of Manang is some time away. In the meantime, we would like to reminisce about our countless adventures in Manang that we have had since 2011.

We love Manang for the natural beauty it possesses and the people who have been the custodians of this blessed land.

Thank you, Manang for letting us play in your backyard and enjoy the best you have to offer in terms of your hospitality, culture and natural beauty. We will be making plans to return and organize race when the road condition improves. You are in our minds.
