【Japan Supports Construction of Agro-Processing Center in Myagdi District】

It is precisely because of these challenging times that Japan is devoting our full efforts to supporting Nepal in every possible way.

Today, we signed an agreement to support the construction of an agro-processing center in Myagdi District.

The cooperation will boost processing capacity, improve product quality, and create income opportunities for local farmers, especially women, while strengthening sustainable rural livelihoods in Myagdi. The project funded by the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) of the Government of Japan and a grant amount is USD 43,175 (approximately NPR 6.6 million).

यी चुनौतीपूर्ण समयका वावजुत हामीले नेपाललाई हरेक सम्भावित तरिकाले सहयोग गर्न हाम्रो पूर्ण प्रयास समर्पित गर्नेछौं।

आज हामीले म्याग्दी जिल्लामा कृषि प्रशोधन केन्द्र निर्माणलाई सहयोग गर्ने सम्झौतामा हस्ताक्षर गरेका छौं।

यस सहयोगले म्याग्दीमा दिगो ग्रामीण जीविकोपार्जनलाई सुदृढ गर्दै, प्रशोधन क्षमता बढाउने, उत्पादनको गुणस्तर सुधार गर्ने र स्थानीय किसानहरू, विशेष गरी महिलाहरूका लागि आयका अवसरहरू सिर्जना गर्ने छन्।

【First Dispatch of Japanese Emergency Assistance to Nepal Arrived in Kathmandu】

This afternoon, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, H.E. Mr. MAEDA Toru, handed over emergency relief goods from the People and the Government of Japan to the Hon'ble Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mr. Mahabir Pun, at the Humanitarian Staging Area of Tribhuvan International Airport. The assistance package includes blankets, plastic sheets, sleeping pads, tents, and portable jerry cans for the affected communities.

In the Japan-Nepal Summit Telephone Call held on September 1 and Japan-Nepal Foreign Ministers’ Telephone Call held on August 31, both the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister expressed their condolences for the victims of the flash floods and landslides that occurred on August 26th in the areas near the Nepal-China border, conveyed their heartfelt sympathies to their families and to all those affected by the disaster. The Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister further stated that Japan stands in solidarity with Nepal and will do everything in its capacity to respond to the situation.
