Educating Nepal (EN) We adopt a deprived community to prepare them to become independent whereby the children thereof receive free quality education. www.educatingnepal.org

Educating Nepal is a youth-led non-governmental organization registered under Organization Registration Act 2034(4), a tax exempt entity under Income Tax Act 2058(2,gha) affiliated to Social Welfare Council under section 14 of Social Welfare Act 2049.Education in Nepal is not something one can take for granted. Although statistics shows that around 82% of the youth between 15 and 24 are educated i

n Nepal (Source: UNESCO), the reality is quite different. There are barely any schools in remote areas of the country, and those that are located off these areas are neither easily accessible nor affordable due to harsh geographical terrains and socio-economic barriers. Yet, in other places where there are an adequate number of schools, there are not enough teachers to teach, big classrooms for children to fit in and ample resources to learn from. These children may have elementary literacy, but they surely do not have the required academic resources to gain wisdom through. This is where change is required. Our team is a group of enthusiastic youths who strive to change the aforesaid statistics. Our aim is to ensure that no child is labeled illiterate or uncivilized. In other words, we want to ensure that no child drops out of school. We deem education a birth-right and, therefore, do not want to see any child deprived of it. It is this sole aim that has given our cause a meaning—a cause that we shall be defending despite all odds because we care. And, we want to keep working and expanding until we see these little kids living their dreams. Indeed, dreams should not be limited to mere literacy; we want these children to have an access to IT, one of our key priorities. We want awareness, wisdom and open-mindedness cultivated in them. Above all, we want them to be strong and bold, and to act as a catalyst for change to guarantee a better tomorrow. Of course, we believe in building better communities. Although our focus is basically on preparing a platform for formal schooling to the deprived children, our objectives extend also to health, sanitation and environmental education for the whole community as part of our social responsibility. Not to mention, we are committed to availing informal employment-oriented skills, educational programs and awareness in such villages to pave the way for our primary goal. We have, in fact, already started a similar program with a certain village, but our aim is to build more communities while building classrooms and schools, and ensuring a learning environment. We want the whole country to participate in this project and help each other to utilize the resources fully. Contact Person

It was a pleasure to welcome High level delegates to our office. I thank the Embassy of Japan in Nepal for co-ordinating the whole event and look forward to a stronger collaboration between the nations in complementing the economic growth of each other in the near future.

On July 29 2024, a high level delegation of Japanese Parliament members led by Hon. Mr. TAKEBE Arata, Chair of the Standing Committee on Judicial Affairs, House of Representatives paid a visit to our school. We had a very fruitful discussion on the future of Nepal- Japan relations in diplomatic, economic and social avenues. The main focus however was on making Technical Intern Training Program effective for both the countries in the future and planning a sustainable return plan of TITP returnees in their home countries.

Great to be a part of internal working group of IEEE on Development of new Standard for 'Terms & Conditions' for Children's Online Engagement with Social Media Platforms, and Gaming Sites. We are basing our work on UN Convention on Right of Child and through lived experience of young people gathered from roundtable discussion and surveys . Special focus will be on online addiction and mental health.

This standards development process was officially launched during this year's WSIS in Geneva. This is very important now to keep young people safe from misinformation, disinformation and AI fabricated fakes and synthetic images.

Looking forward to continue working with this wonderful team and creating impact for good.
